Air Canada New Bag Policy

So, you've heard the news, huh? Air Canada's been tinkering with their baggage policy. Grab a coffee, let's chat about it.

First Things First

You're probably wondering, "What's changed?" Well, buckle up, because here we go.

First off, Air Canada's checking in a new size limit for carry-on bags. They're not messing around either, it's a strict 21.5 x 15.5 x 9 inches (55 x 40 x 23 cm). That's about the size of a small dog carrier, folks. I mean, I guess you could try to squeeze your furry friend in there, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Now, if you're thinking, "That's fine, I'll just check my bag," well, hold onto your toques, because they've got news for you too. The checked bag fee has gone up. Yep, it's like they're daring us to travel lighter.

But Wait, There's More

Alright, so you've got your bag sizes down, you're ready to pay the fee. But wait, there's more. Air Canada's also streamlining their fare classes. That's fancy talk for "they're changing how you pay for your bags."

Now, if you're flying in Economy, you'll have to pay for your first checked bag. Yep, you heard it here first. It's like they're saying, "You want to check a bag? Sure, but it's gonna cost ya."

But here's the kicker, if you're flying in Economy Basic, you won't even get a free carry-on. I mean, what is this, a budget airline? Oh wait...

Silver Linings

Alright, alright, I know it sounds like I'm being a bit harsh. But hey, there's always a silver lining, right?

For starters, if you're a member of their loyalty program, you get a free checked bag. That's right, all you frequent flyers out there, you're in luck.

And let's not forget, Air Canada's not the only airline doing this. It's like they're all playing a game of follow the leader. So, maybe it's time we all start packing lighter?

So, What Now?

Well, my friend, it's time to reassess your packing strategy. Maybe it's time to invest in some space-saving bags. Or maybe it's time to embrace the minimalist lifestyle. I mean, who needs all that stuff anyway?

Either way, Air Canada's new policy is here to stay. So, let's embrace it, shall we? After all, every cloud has a silver lining. And who knows, maybe we'll all end up traveling lighter and smarter.
