Southwest Carryon Bag Policy 2025

Hey there, travelers! Let's chat about Southwest's carry-on bag policy in 2025, yeah?

So, you're planning a trip, huh? Great! But before you start packing like you're moving to Mars, let's talk about what you can actually take on board with you in 2025. Don't worry, I won't bore you with all the details. We'll keep it fun and easy, promise!

First things first: The Big Two

Alright, so Southwest has two main carry-on bags you can bring on board. First, we've got the personal item. Think of this as your trusty sidekick - it's got your back (and your snacks, let's be real). This could be a purse, a backpack, or even a small suitcase. Just keep it under 18.5 x 13.5 x 8.5 inches, okay?

Now, let's talk about the main event: your carry-on bag. This guy's got a little more room to stretch, so to speak. It should be under 50 pounds (yeah, we know you're strong, but let's not test it, alright?) and no bigger than 62 linear inches (that's length + width + height, in case you were wondering).

What's that, you say? You've got more stuff?

Well, listen up, because Southwest's got you covered. If you've got more than two bags, you can check them for a fee. But hey, who wants to wait at the baggage claim when you can have all your stuff with you, right?

Now, I know what you're thinking: "But what if I've got a musical instrument? A surfboard? A pet sloth?" (Okay, maybe not that last one.) Don't worry, Southwest's got special policies for those, too. Just check their website, and you'll be good to go.

Let's talk liquids, folks

You know the drill: liquids, gels, and aerosols need to be in containers no bigger than 3.4 ounces (that's 100ml for our international friends). And they all need to fit in one clear, quart-sized bag. It's like a tiny, see-through treasure chest for your toiletries!

And hey, if you're traveling with kids, don't worry about the liquid rules for their stuff. Just keep it all in a separate bag, and you're good to go.

Checking in? Let's make it easy

So, you've packed light, you've got your liquids in a bag, and you're ready to go. Great! But before you head to the airport, make sure you check in online or on the Southwest app. It's quick, it's easy, and it'll save you time at the airport. Plus, you might even get a free drink coupon. You're welcome.

So, there you have it, folks!

Southwest's carry-on bag policy in 2025, all wrapped up in a neat little bow. Now, go forth, pack light, and have the best trip ever. And remember, if you've got any questions, just ask a friendly Southwest employee. They're there to help, and they're usually pretty awesome people.

Happy travels, and until next time, keep your bags light and your spirits high!
