Eagles Training Camp Bag Policy

So, you’re headed to Eagles Training Camp. Awesome. I’m jealous. But before you can scream “Fly, Eagles, Fly” and watch Jalen Hurts throw a dime into the August sun, you need to deal with the bag. Yes, the bag.

Look, the NFL is not messing around. They are the boss of your purse. Remember that crazy aunt who searches your bag at the airport gate? The Eagles security team is her twin. They are serious.

First, the golden rule: clear bags only. You know, those plastic totes that look like you’re smuggling a fishbowl? Yes, those. If your bag is not clear, you are not getting in. End of story.

Why? “Safety,” they say. I say it’s to stop us from sneaking in a hero sandwich and a six-pack of Yuengling. But I digress. Just go buy a clear bag. They sell them at every gas station between here and the Linc.

What Actually Fits?

Your clear bag can be a maximum of 12” x 6” x 12”. That’s about the size of a small shoebox. Or a medium zucchini. Don’t bring a duffel bag, Karen. You’re going to camp practice, not a week in the Poconos.

Need to carry more? You also get one small clutch. It can’t be bigger than 4.5” x 6.5”. That’s basically the size of a checkbook. Or a really angry possum. So, choose wisely.

Wallet? Great news. If your wallet is smaller than that clutch size, you don’t even need a clear bag. Just shove it in your pocket. Men, you win this round.

What You Can Bring (Besides Hopes and Dreams)

You can bring a sealed plastic water bottle. One per person. Thank the football gods for that. Camp in August feels like standing on the sun. Hydration is not optional.

Diapers and wipes? Yes, if you have a tiny human. But the diapers must be in a clear bag too. Imagine explaining that to the security guard. “No, sir, that’s not a snack. That’s for my toddler.” Fun times.

Cameras? Small point-and-shoot cameras are usually fine. Leave the DSLR with the zoom lens the size of your arm at home. You’re not shooting the Super Bowl halftime show. You’re watching a run drill.

Umbrellas? Nope. They’re banned. If it rains, you get wet. Or you buy that overpriced poncho from a vendor. That’s called commitment to the team.

The “Don’t Even Think About It” List

No large backpacks. No coolers. No lawn chairs that look like thrones. And no weapons—obviously. Like, do I even have to say that? Apparently, yes.

No selfie sticks. I know. Tragic. How will you get that perfect shot of yourself looking sweaty and happy next to a giant Eagles helmet? Use your arm. Live dangerously.

No outside food. That means no hoagies, no soft pretzels, no bag of Wawa apples. They want you to buy their $12 hot dog. Embrace the capitalism.

A Little Pro Tip from a Seasoned Fan

Here’s the hack: wear cargo shorts. Seriously. You can stuff your phone, wallet, keys, and a snack in those pockets. You look a little goofy? Maybe. But you walk right past the bag check line while everyone else argues about their “see-through-ish” tote.

Also, arrive early. The bag check line on Day 1 is a zoo. People show up with sequined clutches and are shocked—shocked—they can’t bring them in. Don’t be that person.

And finally, be nice to the security staff. They are just doing their job. They have heard “but I’m a season ticket holder” a thousand times. They don’t care. Smile. Zip your clear bag. Walk in. Find your seat. Cheer loud.

So, to recap: clear bag, small clutch, sealed water, and a good attitude. Leave the giant purse and the grumpy face at home. Go Birds. And maybe, just maybe, we’ll see you at the fence line near the Dawkins tunnel. I’ll be the one in cargo shorts. Don’t judge.
