So, I was walking my dog the other day, and I noticed old Mrs. Thompson from down the street had a fresh bouquet of flowers on her doorstep. Now, Mrs. Thompson is as spry as they come, but those flowers got me thinking - someone's been visiting the Hannah Funeral Home recently. You know how it is, you see something, you think about it, and then suddenly, you're scrolling through their Recent Obituaries page like you're catching up on an old friend's Facebook feed. Don't act like you've never done it!
Anyway, I thought I'd share what I found. Now, I'm not one to gossip, but I figure if it's online, it's fair game, right? So, grab a cup of coffee, get comfortable, and let's dive in.
Mr. Albert "Al" Johnson
First up, we have Mr. Albert "Al" Johnson. Now, Al was a character, I'll give him that. He was the kind of guy who could make you laugh so hard you'd spit out your coffee. I remember him from the old bowling alley days. He had this one joke, something about a duck and a truck... I can't remember it now, but it was a hoot back then. He passed away peacefully in his sleep, which is more than some of us can hope for. Rest easy, Al, you old duck (pun intended).
Must Read
Funeral Details
His funeral's this Thursday at 2 PM. I hear there's going to be a slideshow of his bowling days. I might pop by, pay my respects, and maybe catch a glimpse of that duck joke in action again. You should come too, it'll be a hoot (see what I did there?).
Ms. Elizabeth "Liz" Davis
Next up, we have Ms. Elizabeth "Liz" Davis. Liz was a real sweetheart. She used to run the local library, you know, the one with the big old tree out front? She'd always have a smile and a recommendation for a good book. She passed away after a long illness, but she was surrounded by her family, which is something, I guess.
Obituary | Gene Harrell Davis, Jr. | Hannah Funeral Home, Inc.
Memorial Service
Her memorial service is Saturday at 11 AM. I bet the library's going to be packed with people sharing their favorite Liz stories. I might swing by, maybe catch up on some old reading while I'm at it. You should too, maybe you'll find your next great read.
And the Rest...
There are a few more names on the list, but I won't bore you with the details. Suffice it to say, life goes on, and so do we. It's a reminder, isn't it? To live each day like it's your last, to tell the people you love that you love them, to not sweat the small stuff. At least, that's what I tell myself when I'm stuck in traffic or dealing with a cranky customer at work.
So, there you have it, folks. The latest from the Hannah Funeral Home. It's not all doom and gloom, you know. It's a chance to remember, to celebrate, to appreciate. And hey, if nothing else, it's a reminder that we're all in this together. Now, go on, give someone you love a call, tell them you love them. I'll be here, walking my dog, waiting for the next bouquet of flowers to appear on someone's doorstep.
