So, you've found yourself on the Briggs Funeral Home Candor, NC obituaries page, huh? Well, buckle up, my friend, 'cause we're about to make this a whole lot less morbid and a whole lot more fun. I mean, who said funeral homes can't have a sense of humor, right?
Meet the Stars of Our Show
Now, before we dive in, let's get one thing straight. These aren't your grandma's obituaries. No, sirree. We've got a cast of characters here that would make a reality TV show producer weep with joy. We've got the former circus clown, the man who once wrestled a bear (and lived to tell the tale), and the lady who knitted sweaters for every stray cat in town.
Each one of these folks has a story, and by golly, we're gonna tell it. Because life's too short to just list a name, a date, and a few sad facts. No, no, no. We're here to celebrate these amazing humans and their equally amazing lives.

Why Candor, You Ask?
Well, let me tell you, Candor is a town that wears its heart on its sleeve. It's a place where everyone knows your name (and probably your grandma too). It's a place where the local diner serves up the best pie this side of the Mississippi, and the annual watermelon festival is the highlight of the year.
So, it's only fitting that when our dear friends and neighbors shuffle off this mortal coil, we send them off in style. With a smile on our faces and a story to tell. Because that's what life's all about, right? The stories.
Our Favorites (So Far)
Now, I can't possibly tell you every single story (we'd be here all day), but I can certainly share a few of our favorites.
Meet Martha, the lady who knitted sweaters for every stray cat in town. She was a force to be reckoned with, that one. She'd march into the local pet store, arms laden with tiny, hand-knitted sweaters, and demand they find homes for her 'kids'. She was a saint, that Martha. And she'd want us to remember her with a smile and a laugh, not a tear.
Obituary information for David Lee Briggs
And then there's Old Man Jenkins, the former circus clown. He'd tell you he was a 'clown by trade, but a jester by heart'. He'd juggle for the kids at the park, pull flowers from behind their ears, and always, always have a joke up his sleeve. His obituary was a veritable who's who of Candor's finest, all sharing their favorite Jenkins joke. My personal favorite? 'What do you call a fake noodle? An impasta.'
So, What's the Point?
Well, my friend, the point is this: life's short. Too short to not celebrate the hell out of it. Too short to not laugh, to not love, to not live. And that's what we're doing here, at Briggs Funeral Home Candor, NC. We're celebrating life, one obituary at a time.
So, the next time you find yourself on our little corner of the internet, don't be sad. Don't be somber. Be happy. Be joyful. Because these folks? They lived. They loved. And they left us with some darn good stories.
And isn't that what it's all about?
