How Old Is Steven Tyler Of Aerosmith

So, I was at this music store the other day, browsing through the vinyl records, you know, just for the nostalgia. The guy behind the counter, probably in his 20s, asks me if I need help finding something. I tell him I'm just looking for some classic rock. He nods, then points to a section and says, "You might want to check out Toys in the Attic by Aerosmith. It's a classic." I looked at him, puzzled. "Kid," I said, "I've been listening to Aerosmith since before you were born. I was there when they released that album." He just laughed and said, "Well, maybe you can teach me a thing or two about them then."

That got me thinking, how old is Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, the lead singer of the band that's been rocking our world since the 70s? I mean, if that kid at the store thought I was old enough to have seen them release Toys in the Attic, then Steven Tyler must be ancient, right?

Steven Tyler's Journey

Well, let's rewind a bit. Steven Tyler, born Tallard Steven Victor Takanen on March 26, 1948, in Manhattan, New York, is the frontman of the legendary rock band Aerosmith. He's known for his distinctive voice, his wild stage presence, and his love for all things flashy and sparkly. But how did this all start?

Tyler grew up in Yonkers, New York, and later moved to New Hampshire. He started his musical journey in the late 60s, playing in various bands before forming Aerosmith in 1970 with guitarist Joe Perry. Their first album, Aerosmith, was released in 1973, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Age is Just a Number

So, back to the question at hand. As of 2023, Steven Tyler is 75 years old. Yes, you read that right. The man is a septuagenarian, and he's still rocking harder than ever. He's a living legend, a testament to the fact that age is just a number when it comes to rock 'n' roll.

Tyler has seen it all - the rise and fall of Aerosmith, his own solo career, his stint as a judge on American Idol, and even a stint in rehab. Through it all, he's remained a symbol of rock 'n' roll excess and glamour. He's the guy who sang about walking this way, and we've all been walking that way ever since.

Still Going Strong

Despite his age, Tyler shows no signs of slowing down. Aerosmith is currently on their Deuces Are Wild residency in Las Vegas, and Tyler is still wowing crowds with his powerful vocals and his signature scarves and sunglasses. He's also been working on new music, both with Aerosmith and on his own.

So, the next time you're at a music store, and some young whippersnapper tells you to check out Aerosmith, you can smile knowingly and say, "I've been listening to them since before you were born." And then you can tell them all about Steven Tyler, the man who's been walking this way for over five decades and shows no signs of stopping.
