How Old Was Gilbert Blythe In Season 1

So, you're curious about Gilbert Blythe's age in Season 1 of Anne of Green Gables, huh? Let's grab a coffee and dive right in!

First things first, who's Gilbert?

Well, if you've been living under a rock (no judgment, we all have our reasons), Gilbert Blythe is the charming, sometimes infuriating, always lovable guy from the Anne of Green Gables series. He's Anne Shirley's best friend, confidant, and, let's be real, secret admirer.

Now, let's talk age.

Season 1 of the Netflix series is set in 1872, and our dear Gilbert is 13 years old. That's right, folks! He's just a young'un, navigating the treacherous waters of Avonlea with Anne by his side. But don't worry, he grows up (a little) with each season.

You might be wondering, "Why does this matter?" Well, friend, it doesn't really matter. But isn't it fun to imagine Gilbert as a young, gangly teen, trying to keep up with Anne's whirlwind of a mind? Plus, it's always interesting to see how the show differs from the books, right?

But what about the books?

In L.M. Montgomery's original novel, Gilbert is indeed 13 years old when the story begins. So, the show stays pretty faithful on this one. But who knows? Maybe in Season 4, they'll throw us a curveball and reveal Gilbert was actually a 30-year-old man in a teenager's body. (Wouldn't that be a plot twist?)

So, what's the takeaway here?

Gilbert Blythe is 13 in Season 1, and that's that. But more importantly, it's a reminder to enjoy the little details that make the Anne of Green Gables series so delightful. Whether you're Team Gilbert or Team Diana (or, let's be honest, secretly Team Bash), there's always more to explore in the enchanting world of Avonlea.

Now, who's ready for another refill?
