How Old Was Jared Padalecki In Season 1 Of Supernatural

Alright, gather 'round, 'cause I've got a tale to spin about Jared Padalecki, the man who brought us the Winchester brothers' saltier half, Dean. Now, you might think, "Hey, isn't Jared like, a million years old? I mean, 'Supernatural' has been on since the dinosaurs roamed!" Well, hold onto your hats, 'cause we're about to dive into the time-traveling, age-bending world of TV production.

When Was 'Supernatural' Born?

First things first, let's rewind the clock to 2005. That's right, the year Paris Hilton's "Stars Are Blind" was a thing, and we were all just discovering the joy of YouTube. It was in this distant past that 'Supernatural' first graced our screens. Now, you might be thinking, "Okay, so Jared was, like, 12?" Not quite, my friend.

Enter Jared Padalecki

Jared Padalecki, our beloved Dean Winchester, was born on July 19, 1982. That makes him a Cancer, for all you astrology buffs out there. So, when 'Supernatural' Season 1 aired in 2005, Jared was a ripe old age of 23. I know, I know, it's shocking. He looks so young on the show!

But here's where things get a little wonky. You see, TV shows don't just pop onto our screens fully formed. No, no, they're like fine wine (or maybe more like cheap beer), they need time to ferment. 'Supernatural' Season 1 was filmed in 2004, which means Jared was a mere 22 when he first stepped into those iconic boots.

Why Does This Matter?

Well, aside from satisfying your burning curiosity (and mine, let's be honest), it's a reminder that TV shows don't always air right after they're filmed. Sometimes, there's a gap. Sometimes, that gap is big enough for an actor to age a whole year!

How Old Jared Padalecki Was When Supernatural Started & Ended

But here's where it gets really interesting. 'Supernatural' ran for 15 seasons. That's right, folks, it's the longest-running sci-fi series in the U.S. And guess who was there for the whole ride? Yep, Jared Padalecki. So, by the time the show wrapped in 2020, Jared was a 37-year-old Dean Winchester. Talk about an age gap!

How Old Was Jared in Season 15?

Now, you might be wondering, "Okay, okay, I get it. Jared was 22 in Season 1. But how old was he in Season 15?" Well, buckle up, 'cause here comes the shocker. When 'Supernatural' Season 15 aired in 2020, Jared Padalecki was a 38-year-old man. I know, I know, it's mind-blowing. He was practically a senior citizen by TV standards!
