How Old Was Vicki Lawrence When She Was On Mama's Family

So, you're curious about Vicki Lawrence's age when she was on Mama's Family, huh? Let's dive into the coffee-stained pages of TV history and find out!

First things first, Mama's Family was a spin-off from The Carol Burnett Show, which aired from 1967 to 1979. Vicki, a regular on the show, played the character of Mama, a sassy, no-nonsense woman with a heart of gold. But how old was she when she first slipped into Mama's sensible shoes?

Vicki was born on March 26, 1949, making her a fellow Aries, just like me! (Fun fact: Did you know that Aries are known for their courage and enthusiasm? I mean, we have to be, right? With all those birthdays so close to April Fool's Day!)

Now, let's do some math. The first episode of Mama's Family aired on January 5, 1983. Vicki was... hold onto your coffee cups... 33 years old! Can you believe it? She was practically a baby!

I know, I know, 33 doesn't seem that young now, but remember, this was the '80s. People were still trying to figure out what to do with all those newfangled VCRs. And here was Vicki, playing a character old enough to be her mother, and absolutely killing it!

But wait, you might be thinking, "Surely she must have been older when the show ended, right?" Well, yes, you're correct. The final episode aired on May 23, 1990. Vicki was a ripe old... (I say that with love, of course) 41. Still young enough to be my big sister, but old enough to have played Mama for a good chunk of my life!

So there you have it, folks! Vicki Lawrence was 33 when she started playing Mama, and 41 when she hung up her character's apron. Not bad for a girl born in the late '40s, huh? Now, who's ready for a refill? My treat!
