How Old Is Family Guy Show

Ever found yourself binge-watching Family Guy, laughing your way through Stewie's schemes and Brian's dry humor, and wondered, "How old is this show, anyway?" Well, grab a drink, get comfy, and let's dive into a little trip down memory lane.

So, how old is Family Guy?

Alright, let's start with the basics. Family Guy first aired on January 31, 1999, which makes it over two decades old as of 2021. That's right, it's been around longer than some of you reading this!

Now, you might be thinking, "That's ancient in TV years!" And you're not wrong. But stick around, because things get even more interesting.

Older than your favorite social media platform

Can you believe that Family Guy is older than Instagram and TikTok? That's right, while you were busy posting your brunch pics and dance challenges, Peter Griffin was already making crude jokes and breaking the fourth wall.

And if you're a millennial, you might be surprised to learn that Family Guy is also older than YouTube. That's right, the first episode of Family Guy aired two years before the first video was uploaded to YouTube.

Older than some of your favorite shows

You might be thinking, "Okay, but it's not that old. Lots of shows are older than social media platforms." And you'd be right. But here's where it gets crazy: Family Guy is older than some of your favorite shows!

That's right, The Big Bang Theory first aired in 2007, making it eight years younger than Family Guy. And The Walking Dead? That started in 2010, a whole eleven years after Family Guy.

Now, you might be thinking, "But what about South Park? Isn't that older?" And you'd be right. South Park is indeed older, having first aired in 1997. But here's the thing: Family Guy is still older than most of your favorite shows!

So, why does it matter?

You might be wondering, "Why should I care how old Family Guy is?" Well, here's the thing: Family Guy is a show that's been around for so long, it's seen the rise and fall of TV trends, the evolution of comedy, and the birth of the internet as we know it.

It's a show that's been through so much, it's practically a TV dinosaur. And just like a real dinosaur, it's managed to evolve and adapt to survive in a world that's constantly changing. It's a testament to the power of good comedy, and a reminder that sometimes, the oldies are still the goodies.

So, the next time you're watching Family Guy, take a moment to appreciate its age. It's not just a show, it's a TV institution. And it's not going anywhere anytime soon. After all, as Peter Griffin would say, "You can't keep a good show down."
