How Old Are Rush Band Members

Ever wondered what it's like to be a rock legend? To have your music echo through decades, inspiring generations? Well, let's take a peek into the lives of Rush, the Canadian power trio that's been rocking our world since the '70s. Today, we're not here to talk about their discography or awards (though they're impressive!), but rather, we're curious: how old are these guys?

Geddy Lee - The Frontman

Let's start with the man who's got it all - the voice, the bass, and the keyboards. That's right, we're talking about Geddy Lee. Born Gary Lee Weinrib, Geddy's been the heart and soul of Rush since he was just a young whippersnapper. So, how old is he now? As of 2021, Geddy's 67 years young. That's right, he's been rocking out for almost half a century!

To put that into perspective, imagine you're a 20-something today. By the time you're Geddy's age, you'll have been working, paying bills, and maybe even raising a family. But Geddy? He's been jamming with Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart, creating music that's stood the test of time.

Alex Lifeson - The Guitarist

Speaking of Alex, let's talk about this guy. He's the one responsible for those iconic guitar riffs that make you want to air guitar every time you hear them. Born Alexander Zivojinovich, Alex is the other half of Rush's powerhouse duo. So, how old is he? Alex is 68 years old in 2021.

That's right, he's older than your average rockstar. But then again, Rush isn't your average band. Alex's been shredding since the '70s, and he's still at it. That's like being a professional gamer for over 40 years. Now that's dedication!

Neil Peart - The Drummer (Rest in Peace)

Now, let's talk about the man who was often referred to as one of the greatest drummers of all time. Neil Peart was the powerhouse behind Rush's rhythm section. Born Neil Ellwood Peart, he was the oldest member of the band. So, how old was he? Neil passed away in 2020 at the age of 67.

Neil's legacy lives on through his music, his words, and his passion for drumming. He's a testament to the fact that age is just a number when it comes to making music that matters.

Why Does It Matter?

So, why should we care about how old these guys are? Well, for starters, it's a testament to their longevity. Rush has been around for over four decades, and they're still relevant today. That's like having a favorite pair of jeans that you've worn since high school, and they're still in style!

But more importantly, it's a reminder that music knows no age. It doesn't matter if you're a teenager discovering Rush for the first time or a baby boomer who's been listening since the '70s. Good music is timeless, and Rush is proof of that.

So, the next time you crank up "Tom Sawyer" or "Limelight", remember that the guys behind these iconic songs have been around the block a few times. And that, my friends, is pretty darn cool.
