How Old Is Mal From Descendants

So, you're curious about Mal's age, huh? I mean, who isn't? She's like the ultimate Disney villain's daughter, all sass and style. Let's dive in, shall we?

Where It All Began

First things first, Mal, or Maleficent the Younger, made her grand entrance in the Disney Channel Original Movie, "Descendants," back in 2015. Now, you might be thinking, "Well, that's not helpful. That's like, what, seven years ago?" And you'd be right. But stick with me, we're getting there.

You see, the "Descendants" movies are set "present day," according to the Disney universe. But, and here's where it gets a bit tricky, they're set in a world where the villains and heroes from classic Disney movies have been locked away on the Isle of the Lost for 20 years. Confused yet? Let's simplify.

Doing the Math

Mal's mom, Maleficent, was locked away 20 years before the events of "Descendants." So, Mal was born sometime during those 20 years. Now, here's where we start to get a bit more specific. In "Descendants," Mal is a teenager, around 16 or 17, according to the actors' ages at the time.

But here's the thing, the "Descendants" movies are set in the same timeline as the original Disney movies. So, if you're thinking, "Well, how old is Mal compared to, say, Ariel?" you're asking a great question. But it's a bit of a head-scratcher, because the original movies don't have a set timeline. They're all over the place!

Age is Just a Number, Right?

So, in the end, Mal's age is a bit of a mystery. She's a teenager, that's for sure. But whether she's 16, 17, or somewhere in between, who knows? Maybe it's best not to dwell on the details and just enjoy her sassy one-liners and fabulous outfits.

And hey, who among us hasn't wished we could freeze time and stay young forever? Maybe Mal's got the right idea. But don't tell her I said that. She's got enough power without knowing she's inspired our eternal youth fantasies.

So, there you have it. Mal's age is a bit of a puzzle, but one thing's for sure - she's a force to be reckoned with, no matter how old she is. Now, who's ready for another round of coffee? My treat.
