What Time Does Tesco Sell Alcohol

Ever found yourself mid-week, craving a cheeky G&T, only to realize you've run out and it's not quite wine o'clock yet? You're not alone, friend. Let's dive into the world of Tesco's alcohol sales, because who doesn't love a bit of retail therapy with their tipple?

When Does the Party Start?

In the UK, the party starts at 10 am, according to Tesco. Yes, you read that right. From Monday to Saturday, you can swing by your local Tesco Express or Superstore and pick up a bottle of something stronger than your morning coffee. But hold your horses, because Sundays are a different story.

Sundays are a day of rest, it seems, even for the alcohol aisle. In most Tesco stores, alcohol sales are restricted until 12 pm. So, if you're planning a Sunday roast with a side of prosecco, make sure you've got your timings right. No one wants to be stuck with a dry roast, am I right?

Store Hours vs. Alcohol Sales

Now, you might be thinking, "But what if I need my alcohol fix after 10 pm or on a Sunday afternoon?" Well, my friend, it's all about the store hours. Most Tesco stores close at 10 pm, but some larger stores and superstores might stay open later. As for Sundays, the alcohol ban lifts at 12 pm, but the store might close earlier than usual.

Here's a fun fact to impress your mates: Did you know that the UK's alcohol licensing laws are devolved? This means that the rules can vary a bit depending on where you are in the country. For instance, in Scotland, the Sunday alcohol sales ban lifts at 12:30 pm, not 12 pm. Fancy that!

Online Shopping: The Party Never Stops

But what if you're stuck at home, binge-watching the latest Netflix series and suddenly realize you're out of your favorite tipple? Fret not, because Tesco's online shopping service, Tesco.com, is here to save the day. You can order your booze anytime, day or night, and have it delivered right to your doorstep. Just make sure you're home to ID yourself, because even Tesco can't break the law.

And here's a pro tip for you: If you're a Tesco Clubcard member, you can earn points on your alcohol purchases. Who said responsible drinking wasn't rewarding?
